We’re Just Getting Started

That’s why the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) voted 2-to-1 Monday to modernize the nation’s long-distance high-powered transmission policies — geared to meeting the Biden Administration’s decarbonization goals and to harden the grid to withstand extreme weather that could wreak havoc on local economies.

Solar technology has come a long way in the past 10 years. The bold statements above serve as a perfect example. Residential solar is at the forefront of an electricity distribution revolution. And, boy, are we just getting started!

The FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) just met and voted to “modernize” cross-country transmission infrastructure to provide the nation’s long backlog of energy generation it’s place on the grid. 260,000 Megawatts of new generation is waiting to be constructed. 95% of that- solar, wind, and battery.

What does this mean for the consumer? The grid will be more predictable, and there will be fewer power outages as homeowners adopt solar power under net metering.

Of notable highlight is this line from the article,

“The Rocky Mountain Institute found that the cost of solar fell by 80% from 2012 to 2022.”

This is what solar companies have been preaching! This is why people are going solar! Not only have we’ve seen price increases from electricity providers, but we’ve also seen price decreases in turn-key costs of PV solar systems.

Homeowners are seeing immediate reductions in their electricity cost, locking in what they’ll pay for years to come, and saving the environment. I can’t help who I don’t know- reach out and see if I can help!
